What is night?
Simply our shadow that comes back to us
We are our shadow
Our shadow remains, it seems, after death
We do not pay attention to the shadows even in the mirror
But mirrors play with our shadow So distorted that we do not know that it is ours!
Our shadow is our darkroom
Let your negative develop in it.

Qu’est-ce que la nuit ?
Simplement notre ombre qui nous revient
Nous sommes notre ombre
Notre ombre subsiste, parait-il, après la mort
Nous ne prêtons pas attention aux ombres
Pas même dans le miroir
Mais les miroirs jouent avec notre ombre
Si distordue qu’on ignore qu’elle est nôtre !
Notre ombre est notre chambre noire
